III U:NEW DANCE WAVE FESTIVAL 28.09-1.10.2023
The third edition of U:NEW Dance Wave Festival will take place in Warsaw from 28 September to 1 October 2023. The programme will include two choreographic works by the festival organiser, the HOTELOKO movement makers collective – a performance conceptualised by Agata Życzkowska – ‘SOLARPUNK/In.To.Da.Te’ and the duet ‘LUXA’ performed by Karina Szutko and Agata Życzkowska. In addition, the programme will include works created in collaboration with artists from Poland, Hungary, Mexico, Italy, Austria, Slovakia, France, the Netherlands, Belarus and the USA. There will be performances as well as short choreographic etudes and video dance shows, including the performance ‘LOVE (H)U-MAN’S LOVE’ performed by Zappulla DMN Company from Sicily, a solo ‘tono’ performed by Elisa Medina Hudgins from Mexico, a performance from Hungary: “Collodion-archiv 120.” – László Gálos and Fanny Müller, and ‘Believe in Ilussion’ performed by the Niki&Martin Duo from Vienna. The third edition of the festival continues the principles of the first two editions: the U:NEW Dance Wave Festival aims to popularise dance in its new forms and to strengthen cooperation between Polish artists and foreign partners. The festival is also a meeting of the HOTELOKO movement makers collective with the Warsaw audience. These are events and socio-cultural activities in the field of contemporary dance, new dance, experimental choreography and performance. An important part of the festival programme is the presentation of works made by young artists.

It is a dance event organised by the NOWA FALA Theatre Development Foundation, which has decided to transform the name of the festival from International Movement Festival U:NEW to U:NEW Dance Wave Festival.
The activities will take place in three different locations in Warsaw – in three districts: Praga-Południe, Śródmieście and Mokotów:

It is the result of a wave of new insights into the art of contemporary dance in Poland, Europe and the world. U:NEW Dance Wave Festival is a flow of actions that touch on our identity. It is a collection of images, musical and movement postcards that present the dynamic sociological and philosophical changes of our reality in recent years. It is an attempt to understand the speed of developing technologies and to find one’s place in this new space. These are absurd, comic and authentic actions that unite individuals in search. It is frank confessions, social manifestos and artistic demands. It is an interactive image of small and large cities. It is a dialogue and a voice in the discussion about the future of Europe and the world.
