Presentation of the performance “Insta Show”
Insta Show is yet another project by choreographer Magdalena Przybysz ran in collaboration with director Agata Życzkowska, the founder of the HOTELOKO movement makers Dance Company. The show stars young adults, talented dancers and performers aged 13-16 years old selected for the project in the course of an audition. The pretext for telling the story about the young generation via movement and storytelling was Instagram.
The project owners wanted the young people to use their own voices to talk about the identity of contemporary teens. The starting point for conversations and research for movement to be used in the show was the content posted by young people on one of the most popular social media platforms, namely Instagram, which is immensely popular among the young generation.
The essence of the project is the fact that Magdalena Przybysz and Agata Życzkowska put on a show addressed to the young and old, where they allowed the young to express themselves. The show owes its authenticity and artistic honesty to this unique approach of its makers.
The show premiered as part of the Co-production programme between the Dance Art Center in Warsaw in collaboration with the HOTELOKO movement makers Dance Company, the Theatre Development Foundation ‘NEW WAVE’ and Prom Kultury Saska Kępa centre.
