DARKLENA

A theatrical and dance performance for children and young adults aged 10 years old and over touching upon the issue of identity. It is a story about a boy who likes computer games and football but also likes to dance. One day, when he wakes up in the morning and is getting ready for school, suddenly things start looking different than normally. Unexpectedly, the mysterious Darklena visits him. The performance stars, apart from professional artists, namely dancer Joanna Chitruszko and actres Agata Życzkowska, 11-year old dancer Bastian Knober-Żebrowski who has been a member of the MBB dance group from the age of seven and is the holder of the title of World Champion in the Latin Show – Athens/Greece 2017.

“The performance is centred around the topic of tolerance. Today, it is the perfect time in Poland to talk about this with and to the young people in a true and honest way, but via art. The spectacle combines contemporary dance, new choreography, theatre, video art and performance art.”

Agata Życzkowska

“Darklena can show up at any place and at any time. This is a story of people who wish to describe her based on their own memories and experience. Darklena is, above all, how you see her yourselves. Darklena is publishing and she is active.”

Wojciech Grudziński
